I worked for TeleTech a few years ago. I didn’t pay for anything upfront – maybe that has changed since. They were supposed to send me a headset, but they sent it to the wrong address despite having my correct one on file and I never got it. I didn’t get to choose the hours I wanted to work and they had me working a 6pm to 1am shift. That just wasn’t practical for me at the time and after asking for a switch but being denied, I quit. The whole experience was a cluster f.
Some companies want to avoid being caught on the wrong side of the law. So they'll do anything to keep their books straight. That sometimes means leaving out all other country except where they operate in. Others are not sure of the legality of their business in unfamiliar countries, and the laws that apply in order to legally do business there. So they prefer to play it safe.
I just wanted to let you know that I have been hired by Maritz (Thank you Annie) and working with them for almost 30 days now (perfect attendance gets you a $.25 raise after 30 days too). The company has us calling customers from different businesses (banks, insurance co. etc..) and asking them to please complete a survey of how their customer service experience was between 1 (poor) and 10 (excellent). They pay you the minimum wage of your state weekly by direct deposit and pay on time. The staff is great and helpful and they make the job easy and enjoyable.
