I am regularly asked for recommendations on worldwide work from home jobs available outside the US. The problem is with so many online scams you have to be careful to only find trustworthy sites that actually pay. As a result, I have put together a list of worldwide jobs and gigs allowing you to work from anywhere no matter where you are located. I will add to this list as I come across more sites that I trust.
By now we all know to look out for foreign transaction fees on the credit cards that we use while traveling abroad – no one likes paying a 3% premium simply to make everyday purchases just because you’re not doing so in the US. But what might slip your mind is whether or not your ATM card will charge you fees for withdrawing cash abroad, which can be equally if not more onerous than the fees credit cards charge. In fact, it can actually be two charges – a flat ATM use fee of $2-5, and a transaction fee that’s usually a percentage of 1-3% of the withdrawal. So you can really save by knowing what your bank charges.

Think long and hard before shelling out any money: Some work-at-home jobs will require you to purchase materials or equipment to get started, and while that doesn’t mean they’re not legitimate, it should be a red flag. If you are asked to pay for equipment, make sure you understand what you’re buying, and from whom. Also ask about the return policy for your equipment if your new gig doesn’t work out.

Online teaching jobs can be found at a number of different websites across the web. If you’re interested in TEFL jobs, VIPKID, Gogokid, EF Education First, and Hawo American Academy are legit sites to look for jobs. For general tutoring, websites like Tutor.com and Varsity Tutors are good places to start. Keep in mind that you’ll likely need to complete a video interview before being hired.
Thank you for this info. I have twelve tumors and most are on my back. I want to work and need my children to see that I am still able to bring something to the table. This disease is inherited and they both have it. I have State insurance so I have little hope of getting the help I need. I don’t let them know that but am constantly pushing them to get a career that has good insurance and one that will take them to unimaginable places with insurance lol. I needed this article it has gave me hope. Thank you and God bless. P.s. if you have more info plz email me. I am open to any ideas you might havee.

When you process an international ATM transaction and the fee is presented separately (clearly showing how much we need to rebate), we will refund ATM usage fees assessed within three business days. However, it is not always clear during an international ATM transaction that a fee has been charged. In these cases where a separate ATM usage fee is not presented, we will automatically rebate $3.00 USD for each international ATM transaction. If the ATM usage fee you pay is more than $3.00 USD, please visit a branch or contact Bangor Support at 1.877.Bangor1 (1.877.226.4671).
A: Yes. The only language you are required to know in order to teach English in a foreign country is English. Not knowing the country’s local language will have its challenges, but it can also be beneficial to your teaching. Many schools actually prefer that their English teachers don’t speak the local language so the students are fully immersed in English.

A note from Sarah Page: Scott originally wrote this post about the Schwab Bank High Yield Investor Checking Account debit card in March of 2014. I am re-posting it now as a reminder to all of you who haven’t jumped on this train yet–get one now! I have saved so much in ATM fees over the years, especially the last few weeks traveling around Europe when I’ve needed more cash for small transactions. I’ve also never had trouble withdrawing money from any ATM, no matter what country I’m visiting! Notes added on the original post by me are scattered throughout in bold font.

I just wanted to let you know that I have been hired by Maritz (Thank you Annie) and working with them for almost 30 days now (perfect attendance gets you a $.25 raise after 30 days too). The company has us calling customers from different businesses (banks, insurance co. etc..) and asking them to please complete a survey of how their customer service experience was between 1 (poor) and 10 (excellent). They pay you the minimum wage of your state weekly by direct deposit and pay on time. The staff is great and helpful and they make the job easy and enjoyable. Thanks again Annie and bless you for all your great and helpful information that you share with us.
Although American Express cards are accepted in a lot of places, you will find a lot of merchants that do not accept Amex outside of the United States. You’ll be able to use your American Express cards almost anywhere in the world at large hotel chains and other international travel providers, but don’t expect to use an Amex at a local restaurant or store.

I just checked with fidelity. If you have an account with them and they give you a debit card that is attached to that account it is also free atms worldwide and they reimburse any fees the atm charges. I also asked about the foreign transaction fees and the debit card is visa and visa charges a 1% fee. That fee is way better than the 3% of other cards. That will be a big savings traveling over seas. I hope this helps someone.
Holly fell into freelance writing on a whim. She submitted several pitches for guest posts and ended up landing a few clients. After roughly 6 months of freelancing on the side, she was making enough money to replace her income and work at home full-time. Now, she makes over $200,000 a year from writing alone. Not bad for a home-based business, eh?

4. Citibank: With numerous international locations, customers can avoid fees by withdrawing money from Citi-branded ATM’s. Citibank actually has branches abroad, with over 4,000 locations in more than forty countries. To find out whether your destination is included, go to this page. Asia-Pacific travelers can also visit Find My Citi. If you can’t find a location in your destination, non-Citibank ATM withdrawals outside the US result in a $2 fee plus the 3% international transaction charge you always get hit with, though both of those are waived for Citigold members. Detailed fee information is available here. Per the Citibank foreign ATM info page, foreign withdrawals are fee-free for Citibank customers when they use a Citibank branded ATM or an ATM found at MoneyPass or Publix Food Stores, and fee-free altogether for Citigold clients.

Card terminals at shops and hotels will often detect that your card is from another country and offer to bill you in your home currency. Never choose this option – always pay in the foreign currency! The exchange rate offered will be inflated by the card terminal, so if you’re using one of the credit cards recommended above, you will receive a much better exchange rate.

If you are good at typing and you can listen well, you can make money through transcription. You need to have fast typing skills, and you can make some good money. Also, you need to be experienced in fields such as legal fields or medical because most of the transcription assignments need such skills and knowledge. To get paid you have to deliver quality and accurate work to the clients.

1. Ally: Strictly speaking, Ally does charge a 1% fee, but because it’s low, I thought it was worth mentioning. Per their FAQ page, “If you use an ATM in a foreign country, you may be charged a fee of up to 1% of the transaction amount for the currency conversion and/or cross border transaction. Ally only reimburses ATM fees charged by other banks if the ATM is in the US.”
PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE: PNC) offers a $20 reimbursement per statement period on the performance select checking account. The account carries a $25 monthly service charge that can be waived by meeting certain requirements. The account earns interest on balances of $2,000 or more. PNC operates a limited network of brick and mortar locations that can offer additional convenience.
Some folks are just too busy to handle a few daily errands or commitments like answering emails, scheduling appointments or even making calls. So they hire virtual assistants to do that instead. Sadly, we couldn't find a good number of international virtual assistant work at home jobs. I'll be sure to keep you posted when anything comes up. But there's one very popular one you can check out.
I was wondering if these cards, in addition to not having foreign currency transaction fees, also guarantee the “real” exchange rate when you make a purchase (that is, the exchange rate you would see if you looked at google in the same instance you make the purchase). If not, then just “not having fees” might not be enough if they have a very bad (for us, good for them) exchange rate.
Even better, the national median wage for web developers was $66,130 in 2016, with the top 10% earning an average of $119,550. And you typically don’t need an advanced degree to begin working in this field. All you need is some postsecondary education, applicable experience, and a portfolio of successful sites you’ve built and managed. There are even intensive coding boot camps designed to teach programming skills in just a few short months.
Don’t teach for someone else’s company- create your OWN courses and promote them to your own audience (if you have a website or a blog). We use teachable.com to host our online courses. I create the course, put it on that site, and then students pay money to access the material. No need to apply to anything, but it does take a different kind of work!

Most of the time when a work at home job charges any sort of fee, there is a concern it's a scam. FlexJobs is the only work at home job leads site that absolutely guarantees their listings will be scam-free. They've been recommended by major media outlets like CNN, Forbes, and USA Today. I've also been a member and have never seen a single scam listed. It costs $14.95 a month, but you can use promo code AFFILPROMO to get it for 30 percent off.
Many people need to travel abroad frequently, and they usually ask the question: what is the best debit card to withdraw cash from ATM abroad? We all know that in some countries, credit cards are not as broadly accepted so you often need cash. However, most debit cards have exorbitant fees when withdrawing from privately owned ATMs or those of different banks, not to mention foreign transaction fees. Charles Schwab is a magical bank, the Charles Schwab debit card has NO ATM fees worldwide!
The Capital One® VentureOne® card earns rewards at a lower rate than other cards on this list, but it remains a decent choice for someone looking for a travel rewards credit card with no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees. If you’re not a big spender, you might want to opt for a card like the Capital One® VentureOne® instead of a card with a large annual fee you’ll struggle to justify.
We took a close look at over 70 financial institutions, including the largest U.S. banks based on assets, debit card volume, Internet search traffic and other factors; the nation’s largest credit unions, based on deposits as well as broad-based membership requirements; and other notable and/or emerging players in the industry. We rated them on criteria including annual percentage yields, minimum balances, fees, digital experience and more.
Fay — I have a few posts up that list ways to get fast cash, but if you’re looking for bill money, those might not help much because the things I listed there are mostly good for gas money, pizza money, etc. Just a little extra. I know that with the phone positions there’s often a few weeks or more worth of wait time while you’re getting a background check done, training, and so forth. The sales positions (things like Helios, which has actually received negative feedback lately from some of my readers) could probably have you up and working and making money quickly. I do have a post on this blog covering Helios. But not everyone likes sales, so that may not be the route you’d want to take.

Air NZ OneSmart (NZD, AUD, SGD, HKD, JPY, GBP, EUR, CAD, USD— New Zealand): This innovative prepaid card offer 3 free international ATM withdrawals per calendar month, and can hold a variety of different currencies. If you are in a country with one of the supported currencies, this card can be a good option. If you need to use the card for transactions in unsupported currencies, there is a 2.5% fee. If you are interested in the idea of teaching English in a foreign country, but not sure yet if you want to commit to a semester or yearlong contract, then the Homestay Abroad program may be a good option for you. This volunteer position gives you the opportunity to live with a host family for one to three months, giving English language lessons 15 hours per week.

Ad Disclosure: Offers originating from paying advertisers are noted as "Sponsored" on the offer's details page. Advertising may impact how and where offers appear on this site (including, for example, the order in which they appear). At WalletHub we try to list as many checking account offers as possible but we don't make any representation of listing all available offers.

Regarding your daily withdrawal limit: many machines set a daily limit so even though your Schwab account may offer up to $1K withdrawals, the ATM itself may not. Sometimes they tell you the limit (I see $500-600 fairly often) though other times you’re left guessing. You can work around this by making a second withdrawal at a different ATM, something simple to do in Macau but potentially a downside in remote areas that might not have a second machine nearby.
#13 – Crowd Surf – This company  seeks to solve media challenges for the deaf, hard of hearing and second language viewers. Candidates for this job will provide transcription and captioning services. Some proofreading skills are required for this role. After creating an account, you will take an assessment and you can set up your payment method by choosing between direct deposit, PayPal, and a paper check. Pay is based on types of jobs and will vary, roughly 10 cents for every 25 seconds of audio you transcribe.
This debit card is a must-have if you need to travel abroad! Though they are better known for their investment products, their debit card is really fantastic. It is similar to the Fidelity Check Card, you can compare these two and choose one of them. The main difference is that the Fidelity Check Card has a 1% Foreign Transaction Fee (FTF), while the Charles Schwab Debit Card doesn’t. Also, applying for the Fidelity Check Card does not result in a Hard Pull and the ATM withdrawal limit is $500, as opposed to $1000 for the Charles Schwab.

More than ever, writers are needed to formulate news articles, create content, and come up with the creative ideas that fill the pages of nearly every site on the Internet. And although many bigger sites have in-house writers, a growing number of sites outsource their content and hire freelance writers and content creators. Writing experience is very helpful, but what you really need to get started are drive, ambition, and the ability to find a unique angle on events that happen every day.
One of the hottest work from home jobs out there right now for online tutors is teaching Chinese children English through VIPKID. The service is super flexible, you get to set your own hours, and there is no lesson planning involved. VIPKID provides the lesson plans and communicates with the parents, all you need is a laptop and a desire to help teach  children. Tutors typically earn anywhere from $14 – $22 per hour according to their website.
I am also new to the work from home world but not that new. I have done some work with MCA and SFI. Neither worked for me well. But I am a young stay at home mother of four, all children being 5 and under. And I’m looking for some part time or full time work to support me and the kids. Phone or non-phone is great. I prefer non-phone work because of the kids. And non-writing as well. Thanks for your help. 🙂
Being an at-home call-center rep requires a computer and may require specific software or equipment. A great phone voice helps as well, as does any experience in customer service, data entry, retail sales, or management. Dozens of sites list job openings for call-center representatives, including Upwork.com, Freelancer.com, and SimplyHired.com. However, you may also find listings offered by local businesses in your local newspaper.
Many of the credit card offers that appear on this site are from credit card companies from which MileValue.com receives compensation if you are approved. I forgot to also share that I will be starting work with On Point as an Advocacy Coordinator too. It sounds like a great job that helps our fellow Americans keep informed about political issues. On Point is the voice of the average citizens that may have an opinion to share with their politicians but have no way of knowing how to contact them. On Point makes sure those voices get heard. In orientation the trainer said she will be hiring agents again around the middle of June. If you have good writing skills and are a good conversationalist then you may want to check it out. It also seems like if you put forth a little effort, you can make decent wages with them and they do pay weekly. I’m not big into politics but excited about this new venture.

You are very welcome, Helen. And I am sorry you’re having difficulties with your job. As for the check, it really depends on what kind of job you choose and the company you go with. Some pay weekly, some bi and some pay monthly. The fastest way (based on my personal experience) to get work and actually get decent money (we’re not talking about a few dollars a day like with survey and rewards sites, we’re talking about a few hundred a week)in your hands is through freelance writing. Now, if you’re just a beginner, it can be difficult to find a client. But you can try some of the freelancing sites or even online forums where people look for writers.

I've made a list of online jobs that pay weekly, daily, or multiple times a week. There are a lot of work at home opportunities that only pay monthly or twice a month, and getting paid that infrequently may not do much to help with immediate financial needs. Please know that this list isn't done and I plan to add to it continuously as I find things that meet this criteria.
