Although very little data are available for this work-at-home job since it is relatively new, thousands of listings for social media managers can be found on sites like CareerBuilder.com, SimplyHired.com, and Upwork.com. If you have a demonstrated command of social media and a sizable following, you might even be able to get started by reaching out to companies directly and asking if they need help.
I am also new to the work from home world but not that new. I have done some work with MCA and SFI. Neither worked for me well. But I am a young stay at home mother of four, all children being 5 and under. And I’m looking for some part time or full time work to support me and the kids. Phone or non-phone is great. I prefer non-phone work because of the kids. And non-writing as well. Thanks for your help. 🙂

I was wondering if these cards, in addition to not having foreign currency transaction fees, also guarantee the “real” exchange rate when you make a purchase (that is, the exchange rate you would see if you looked at google in the same instance you make the purchase). If not, then just “not having fees” might not be enough if they have a very bad (for us, good for them) exchange rate.
Air NZ OneSmart (NZD, AUD, SGD, HKD, JPY, GBP, EUR, CAD, USD— New Zealand): This innovative prepaid card offer 3 free international ATM withdrawals per calendar month, and can hold a variety of different currencies. If you are in a country with one of the supported currencies, this card can be a good option. If you need to use the card for transactions in unsupported currencies, there is a 2.5% fee. There is now also a $1 monthly fee.
Online tutors are needed for a wide variety of subjects. Some jobs require you to tutor high school or college students in what can be considered “standard” subjects. Other tutoring jobs, like Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), require interaction and instruction with students from around the globe. These types of positions are more specialized and may require additional training.
If you are good at typing and you can listen well, you can make money through transcription. You need to have fast typing skills, and you can make some good money. Also, you need to be experienced in fields such as legal fields or medical because most of the transcription assignments need such skills and knowledge. Pretty much every serious blogger and online entrepreneur I know has at least one virtual assistant. Think of a VA like an administrative assistant at a regular office building, except they are working remotely. Duties can include practically any administrative task you can think of – including handling emails, bookkeeping, completing sales, customer service, editing websites, and much more. Specializations in areas like social media management or online ad management is another option.
Many people need to travel abroad frequently, and they usually ask a question: what is the best debit card to withdraw cash from ATM abroad? We all know that in some countries the credit cards are not so well accepted so you need cash sometimes. However, most debit cards even have fees when you withdraw from a ATM of other bank, no need to mention withdrawing cash in other countries, and the fee is not cheap at all. Fidelity is a magical bank, the Fidelity Check Card has NO ATM fee worldwide!

Freelance writing has completely changed our lives. For years, we worked great jobs in a funeral home. However, those jobs also demanded tons of time and exceptional amounts of emotional energy. We found ourselves working nights, weekends, and holidays – getting called out at all hours of the night and missing countless family events. These were good jobs, but they grew tiring.

Thank you for the response. I’ve been looking into a lot of them and most pan out as scams or “front Companies” that either have been shut down or have horrible reviews(if any). If I happen to find a legit one…. I’ll let you know so that you can offer this info to anyone else that are interested in this type of work. One that I found as a verified scam is “tiny details”, which has changed their name to “Artisan Miniatures”.

At the very least you will probably be charged the same transaction fee, if any, that your bank charges you when using another bank’s ATM. However, many banks charge higher fees for international ATM withdrawals — either a flat rate (typically $1 – $6) or a set percentage of your total withdrawal (usually 1 – 3 percent). Check with your bank before each trip abroad, as these fees can change often and without warning. To add insult to injury, you may also be charged a fee by the owner of the foreign ATM.
With this company, you will work as search engine evaluator or map analyst or internet assessor. Like Lionbridge, they recruit crowd workers from all around the world, you can check on their website to see if they are currently hiring in your country. From what I understand, their tests are slightly harder than other search engine evaluator companies.

That’s not to say that blogging isn’t a real work-from-home option. I personally know dozens of people who make more than six figures a year from their blog, including my own family. In fact, I’d highly encourage you to start a blog if you feel inclined. Eventually, it can be a great source of residual income. Just don’t go into it thinking you’re going to make a ton of money right out of the gate.
Gertrud, I’m sorry you haven’t had luck finding work with these companies, but I can assure you they are not scam companies. Many do have people fill out questionnaires, to make sure that candidates match the requirements and needs of the company, basically an on-line interview. Don’t give up, I’m sure you will find the right match with persistence.

E-TRADE Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: ETFC) has a checking account with unlimited domestic ATM fee refunds, regardless of the account balance. There are no monthly account fees. Features include online bill pay, a free Visa debit card, unlimited transactions and the first order of checks. E-Trade operates a very limited branch office network throughout the United States.
Like most US banks it also requires you to be a US resident. But as long as you keep a US address on file, they assume you are living there. If you don’t have a US address while traveling or living abroad, your account might be subject to closure. A mail scanning and forwarding service that offer street addresses (not P.O. boxes) can take care of this for a low monthly fee.
Although some online and technical colleges offer degree programs in web design, many of the skills you need can be self-taught. However, there are some technical design elements that you’ll need to learn and can help you stand out. Before investing thousands in a degree program, you may want to check out some of the web design courses on Udemy instead.

Singapore turned out to be more expensive than I anticipated, so I later took out 100 SGD (~$79) and 60 SGD (~$47) in later ATM trips. These small ATM transactions being fee-free is a huge draw of the card for me. With my previous ATM card, I would have paid a $5 fee for using an ATM abroad plus whatever fee the ATM’s owner levied. That would have worked out to about 20% of the value of the cash I was taking out on a $50 withdrawal!
Most people want to find a work at home opportunity that does not charge a fee. Usually, it is because they are concerned about being scammed. Scammers will usually offer a deal that is too good to be true and then will likely ask for personal information and a bank account number. It is important that you avoid sites that ask for that kind of information.
In the unlikely situation that you still have a credit card without a chip, consider picking up another card to carry overseas—or call your credit card issuer and ask if they’ll send you a new version of your card. If you try to use a credit card without a chip overseas, the best case scenario is that it will work, but you’ll get a lot of funny looks. Worst case, the merchant won’t be able to accept the card.

I use a Fidelity cash management account debit card. It also refunds ATM Fees with no additional charge and I have used it successfully all over the world. I also use it in Vegas to save on the ridiculous $7.99 ATM fees out there. If you use the Fidelity debit card for purchases while traveling internationally it does charge a 1% foreign transaction fee, but not on ATM withdrawals. This is fine since I use it for withdrawing cash only.

Finding ways to make money online can be challenging, especially if you're looking for international work at home. You have to determine what's legit or not. Furthermore you have to see if the opportunities are worth your time. It's like a full time job. But this situation is even worst if you live outside the U.S. or Canada. Apparently there are a lot more obstacles to finding worldwide work at home jobs.
I signed up for a Charles Schwab debit card to use during my travels abroad in Europe this summer and am so glad I did. Because so many countries use more cash than cards and I didn’t want to carry around loads of cash. I found myself taking out cash nearly every other day. The Schwab debit card saved me so much money: I never used a currency exchange kiosk and got the best exchange rate possible by taking cash out of ATMs and getting reimbursed for all withdrawal fees.

From my own experience, I’ve used Textbroker to make quick cash for bills. They pay every week on Fridays and if you work a lot every day, you can usually have a substantial amount accumulated by the end of the week — definitely more than the $10 cash out threshold. The only bad thing there is you never know how much work they’ll have up to grab from the order board. But I would say that for me Textbroker has been an excellent source for getting bill money together when I need it quick. Amazon Mturk is another idea. You can cash out there at just $1 and it transfers to your bank account. There is an entire sub-forum about Mturk over at the Work Place Like Home forum where people discuss the best tasks to accept to make the most money. Mturk has a reputation for being just an extra money option, but I know for a fact there are some people making more than just extra money over there.

Even if you follow the advice in tip #3, it’s possible your card could get locked anyway. On top of that, it’s easy to find yourself in a situation where an ATM accepts only one network and not the other. For example, when we travelled in Japan, the only ATMs we could find that would even accept international cards were at 7-Eleven, and they only worked with cards on the Visa/Plus network. I speak from experience – there’s nothing more stressful than needing more cash and not being able to withdraw it, so be prepared and bring multiple cards on multiple networks.
Some of the “gotcha” job offers from the past include check-cashing schemes, mystery shopping, medical billing “jobs” that require you to purchase expensive computer software, and craft-making jobs that ask you to pony up the cash for materials before you get started. And let’s not forget about the famous envelope-stuffing scam that was nothing more than a pyramid scheme designed to siphon money from as many people as possible.

If you are a U.S. PayPal account holder, you can transfer money out of your balance in two ways.* Transfers made using your linked bank account are always free and are usually deposited the next business day.** Now, with Instant Transfer, for a low fee you can transfer funds to your bank account even faster using your eligible debit card. Transfers using a debit card are typically completed in minutes. *** You can choose between your linked bank account(s) and any eligible debit cards when you make a transfer. Eligible debit cards include Visa and MasterCard debit that participate in Instant Transfers. Participation of these cards is driven by the card issuer.
In addition to the answers posted here which are mostly the usual freelance markets that are popular, you can also find leads for work at home jobs through professional builder sites like LinkedIn and even through actual job search sites like Monster, etc. There are also job postings through social media sites like Facebook (particularly groups) and even ad sites like Craigslist. You just have to filter the posts in order to find out which ones are legitimate from those which are not.

The following is a list of companies you can work at home for that do not make you pay them for anything prior to starting work. Still, that doesn't mean you won't have to have certain equipment (headsets, etc.) or have a background check or drug test done. It just means that either they pay for you to have these checks done, or that it's your responsibility to acquire your own equipment for working if you need something you don't already have.

The Bank of America® Travel Rewards credit card has no foreign transaction fees and no annual fee. You’ll earn 1.5 points per $1 spent on all purchases and your points don’t expire. There’s also a sign-up bonus—you can earn 25,000 online bonus points if you make at least $1,000 in purchases in the first 90 days. That’s worth $250 as a statement credit toward travel.
Just one piece of partial contention about your Sapphire post. While you are correct that the sign up bonus would get you $500 in travel…there is a much more lucrative aspect to that sign-up bonus. The beauty of the Ultimate Rewards program is in the ability to transfer points 1:1 to frequent flyer/hotel programs for an extremely higher $ value. For example. 100,000 UR points would get you $1000 in travel using the Chase travel portal…OR…you could transfer those 100,000 points to 100,000 United Miles and book a round-trip business class ticket to Europe…this ticket would be valued at between $5,000 and $10,000…a much higher payout!
Although American Express cards are accepted in a lot of places, you will find a lot of merchants that do not accept Amex outside of the United States. You’ll be able to use your American Express cards almost anywhere in the world at large hotel chains and other international travel providers, but don’t expect to use an Amex at a local restaurant or store.

This has to be the most awesome list. Very informative and insightful. There is another that you didn’t mention on your list. It’s an Energy Conservation program that’s free to join. They pay you to reduce your energy cost and currently 20.00 per referral that signs up and connects their smart meter. I’ve already earned cash and cashed out after only a week. The only drawback is that it’s only good for the state’s of Texas and California.
I forgot to also share that I will be starting work with On Point as an Advocacy Coordinator too. It sounds like a great job that helps our fellow Americans keep informed about political issues. On Point is the voice of the average citizens that may have an opinion to share with their politicians but have no way of knowing how to contact them. On Point makes sure those voices get heard. In orientation the trainer said she will be hiring agents again around the middle of June. If you have good writing skills and are a good conversationalist then you may want to check it out. It also seems like if you put forth a little effort, you can make decent wages with them and they do pay weekly. I’m not big into politics but excited about this new venture.
